I took this picture from ground level. Once the flowers bloom, they stay fresh for many days! And butterflies come to feed themselves! Notice it in my profile picture! It was taken from one of the plants! |

The branch of the tree gives a good look for the picture, I feel! Click on the pictures to have a better look! |
These plants are around 18 years old! They need very less water and maintenance is zero! Very easy to manage. This plant grows from seeds. I had posted the pictures of the earlier.
Here it is.

This is the seed which had burst open and the tiny seeds flew all over the place! |
I had a lovely garden in my old house. Many varieties of Jasmine and exora/Vrutshippoo flowers were there. Here, in this house I have got 2 varieties of jasmine in two pots in another balcony. I did many post on our garden in the old house. Some are
here and
here.
Last week a seed burst out from one of these plants and I sowed some seeds in a pot. Hope I get more plants of this variety!

Lovely blooms, Sandhya! Such a cheerful colour.
Did you bring these along with you from your old house to this new one?
Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos.
I didn't know that plants have such a long lifespan! I guess it takes a lot of patience to preserve them for so many years. I am also trying to grow some veggies in pots. So far nothing has come. But hoping for some harvest by this year end at least! :)
Destination Infinity
The flowers beautifully adorn your balcony! One of my previous neighbors had the desert rose in a small pot... and i too wish owning it :)
MANJU JOGLEKAR: Only one is around 2 years old. All the others are more than 15 years old. When we went to the old house in 1996, I started collecting this plant. Even 6 inches plant was Rs.30 then! Grown up plants are very very expensive. My profile picture has got this flower, my favourite!
Thank you, Manju!

ARUSHI: Welcome to my space, Arushi! I have not checked when they bloom most and stop flowering, but I see the flowers most of the time...sometimes a lot and sometimes a few. But once they bloom, they stay for more than a week, I think.
Thanks for the comment, Arushi!
