Kaun Banega Crorepati - 5...Want To Have A Good Laugh? Watch This!

Our whole family adores Amitabh Bachchan, whether it is his movies or his kavita or speeches, we sit glued to the screen! Now, the screening of the next series of KBC has made us sit in front of the TV from 8.30 to 10.15 pm. We have to finish dinner by 8.30 then clean the kitchen, sometimes during the break or after the serial is over! Our sleep time has changed to nearly 11, instead of the usual 10 pm! I had done a post on KBC from the earlier series and in that I wrote about one Rahat Taslim, a house maker, who won Rs. 1 crore.

The current series had started from 15th Aug.'11. We enjoyed all the episodes but this one is the best until now! The contestant, Velani Dhaval Kumar, is a young man of 24 years, from Gujarat. He speaks Hindi with heavy Gujarathi accent which is nice to the ears. He says he is a stand up comedian, though works as a clerk in the grain mandi in his village. He made Amitabh and all of us, audiences laugh throughout the episode! I thought I will share this with you so that if you have missed this, you can always watch and laugh! Dhaval Kumar will change your mood! He made us laugh in between every question, so don't FF! The last one is the top comedy!

As Amitabh said, Dhaval will be a household name. He might get chances to do comedy shows in TV or comedy roles in movies too (he is quite good looking and funny with always a smiley face). Now, enjoy the videos:

SWARAM: He is too good, SwaraM!

RADHA: No one can come near him in anchoring!

KAVITA: Thank you, Kavita! We watch this programme with a beaming face...once or twice, I took my eyes off the TV screen and looked at my husband's face...he always had a big smile on his face and then I noticed that I was also smiling when Amitabh conducted the programme. Amitabh's whole face is full of affection esp. when he questions the contestants who come from small villages and towns! He admires them a lot!

I cannot visualise KBC without AB.They are made for each other. There is none to match him in his avuncular charm, his deep voice and his ability to put the excited person before him at ease.

I wish these videos were smaller. It takes long time to download 12 minutes. But will download them during the night - the connection is free by then. AB has an awesome style in presenting the KBC shows, and I think even Anil Kapoor did a great job in Slumdog Millionare.

I hardly watch KBC! but was just crossing the room while this episode came, as you said, I too got glued to the seat! This chap was so confident, not for a moment it seemed he is awe struck or afraid of a personality like Amitabh Bachhan! He had such a Nishchal laugh! he truly touched our heart!

VARUNAVI: Too bad. This episode was too good. The boy has got guts to ask Amitabh to hint for the answer and offered 'phipti phipti' in prize money. Amitabh enjoys these types of contestants! Don't miss it.

MEGHA: Your story was good, Megha. The narration was good.

If the contestants are boring, or boasting type, then the episode is boring. But Amitabh makes it watchable. So we don't miss it as far as possible.

K.PARTHASARATHY: Yes, Amitabh makes even a dull person to open up. He hasn't got any ego, which is the best part. So, you are also a fan of our Amitabh, Partha Sir?!

HITCHWRITER: The programme gets a little boring if the contestant is too dull, I feel. Otherwise this is too good. Did you watch this episode? Then you won't say this, Dhiren!

BK CHOWLA: Yes, this boy was making everyone laugh, Chowlaji!

DESTINATION INFINITY: Did you watch now? This episode is too good.

Anil Kapoor had a role model in Amitabh! Yes, Anil did a good job!

JYOTI JOSHI MITTER: This episode was the best until now! As you said, this boy was very innocent as well as intelligent. He took Amitabh as a friend, literally!

RENU: Do you watch the programme, Renu? It is very good, esp. this episode was too good!

I remember watching KBC..in tamil of course.. we dont get sony unless we have set top box that is.. anyways nizhalgal ravi had dubbed for amitabh then.. it was one program my parents never restricted us.. hoping that some knowledge would rub on us too

I saw the first two videos, quite good. Long time since I saw any episode of KBC and it was good to see a great episode. His knowledge is pretty good, for a clerk. Maybe that comes because of the interaction and the activities he is involved into. In the south, we depend on only the textbooks on the knowledge don't we? Good to see such people.

PS: How much did he win in the end?

Sandhya said...

HEMA: Did you watch the videos now? Nobody can beat Amitabh Bachchan!

DESTINATION INFINITY: Remember he hasn't got a TV in his house!

He got Rs.3,20,000, though he went upto 25 lakhs, I think. He did very well. Watch the last episode. It is hilarious!

Only we, middle class people depend on textbooks, D.I. Other children mingle with outsiders and gain more knowledge.

I regularly watch KBC here on Set. It is funny.

Sandhya, you mentioned about a blogger from NC who lost power. Can you connect me to him/her? I don't know many bloggers from the local area. Thanks :))
