Kavita: It did not register (the marks) when I took the picture at two temples! I planned to display the picture of elephants and then noticed the marks!
Bikram: Maybe, but they are used to the easy life now...they get their food easily by just doing the easy work!
When I was in Coimbatore, there were frequent problems in nearby villages due to wild animals coming in to the villages. It seems people cannot control those type of elephants. Only the 'Gumki' or some type of elephants we can domesticate. I really admire how such a huge animal can just eat plants/ branches and survive!
I think people love splitting up in to groups - so that they can fight. They seem to have tried it with elephants, with little success :)
Destination Infinity: We are occupying their space so they have no other way but to enter our villages. They are very intelligent, have a look at this: http://io9.com/#!5783722/old-female-elephants-are-lion+fighting-geniuses
Are you back in Chennai, now?
Harish: Haha...but their worship places don't need elephants! After selecting the pictures, I noticed the marks on their foreheads!
Swaram: Thank you, Swaram!
BK Chowla: I too noticed it after selecting just elephant photos from my album, Chowlaji!
I could see the gentle sarcasm.Like Uma said to the elephants they are just colours on their foreheads. Thanks for the Tamil New Year greetings and comments. Best wishes to you and your family for a happy new year. I do not hv your email ID kpartha12@gmail.com
KParthasarathy: Thank you, Sir! These marks are very common in temple elephants!
radha: I agree with you, Radha! Every temple elephant has these marks on their foreheads. But it is interesting to watch these things!
kanagu: This elephant belongs of Peria koil, Thanjavoor. He was busy 'blessing' the foreigners! I went near him to click and he placed his trunk on my head too! Thank god, it did not have 'jollu' (dripping saliva)! I like elephants, I won't mind them pouring their jollu on me!
Caste system has broken the species barrier! Wow! We have truly progressed and proven beyond a shred of doubt that the Homo Sapiens sapiens are the most evolved amongst species ;)
