Fast And Furious Dance songs

.

We did a tag of soulful and melodious multi-lingual  songs sometime back. Destination Infinity had asked us to do this tag.  And now I am asked to do a tag of 'Fast and Furious Dance Songs'. This time, I have selected 4 Tamil and 2 Hindi film songs.   I have got a long list of Hindi songs also.  But this time, I have given preference to Tamil songs.  I am listing them here:

1.  I love this song and dance of Rajnikant  and Meena.   Rajni is not a dancer like Kamal Haasan, but like Amitabh, he has got his own dance movements, which I like.  You will agree with me!

2. I love Simran's dance movements!  Here she is dancing with actor Vijay.  Have a look at her waist!  Does not look vulgar, but beautiful!  Vijay also is famous for his dance movements.

3.  This is Manirathnam's movie.  As you are aware, his dance picturization is always superb. This is one of my favorites:

4.  This song is, originally,  a Malayalam song.  Then made into Tamil.   People became crazy about this song.  I was hearing this song, wherever I went.  The rhythm is too good!

5.  'Jab we met'... I love this movie and all the songs!  Normally I don't like Kareena Kapoor. She was good in this movie.  Now the song:

6.  Again a Mani Rathnam movie song!  All the songs in 'Roja' are famous.  But this one is a fast number.  Look at the old women dancing in full swing!  Both Madhu and Arvindswamy were favourites of everyone, when the movie was released.  Girls were looking at Arvind and shouting 'oooooh aaaaah' in the theatres!

I loved doing this tag, Destination Infinity!  Music always is my favourite!  I like many of Michael Jackson's songs too!  But don't like some of his dance movements!

Whoever is interested in music can do this tag.  It will be interesting to hear a variety of songs  and we can know who likes which type of songs more!  Like,  you see in my musical posts, I like soft numbers, classical raga based songs, fast songs with nice rhythm, everything.   Now, it is your turn!

Edited to add today (2.9.09)...

Only recently I have started doing tags and I have never asked anyone to do my tag.  I will start now...I would be happy if my friends, whose blogs, I am following, for sometime now, do this tag:

Renu (hereafter I will try my best to do your tag!  Once you tagged me long back and I remember I was not very confident to do it at that time!)

kanagu, Smitha, Solilo is already tagged, I know!  hitchwriter,  Deepu, Saritha, Ashwini, SG, Aparna, Manju, Kavita, Indyeah, Ramesh and anyothers who are happy to do this tag.  Thank you.  If you are not interested, no problem.  Sometimes I too feel, some tags are boring!

thesongoflife: Listen to the others, you will like them too, I am sure! Your selection was very very good, Swaram!

Varunavi: I love this song of Rajini. I like some of his movies, esp. Thalapathi, Basha, Annamalai etc. Mostly they are 'timepass' movies unlike Kamal's movies!

Ramesh: Watch them when you can, please.

SG: I am familiar with old songs in both Tamil and Hindi films. Became familiar with the new songs, mostly via reality shows! I am not a movie buff too! Very rarely we go to theaters. In TV, I prefer to watch musical programs like 'saregamapa', chote ustaad, etc. I took a very very long time to select the songs!

Solilo: Waiting to see your list of songs!

hitchwriter: I like Rajini's 'shaking shoulder' movement, very much. Meena has got a twinkle in her eye and the song is melodious too!

Shail: No problem. I have already written there. I am not going to keep an eye on you. I have not done many tags, too!

sunlight: Welcome here! Thank you.

evanescentthoughts: waiting to see your list of songs, Ashwini!

Kavita: take your time. I was wondering why I am not seeing your new posts. I think, instead of embedding the song, linking URL is better I think. Many people are not able to see the songs. Learning process is still on...!

Renu said...

Sandhya, I will certainly do your tag, though i dont think I know how to upload them:)

I also like msni ratnam's picturisation of songs, most of them, even the one in Guru with Aishwarya was very good.

For me it doesnt matter whether you did the tag or not, you are my friend forever:)

Renu: Now will wait and see your song list. Thank you, Renu.

Deepu: I am not a fan of Vijay, his face is expressionless. But he is quite a good dancer and I love Simran's dance movements. She acted very well in 'Vaali' with Ajith, which is one of my favourite movies.

I didn't like 'lajjaavathi' in the beginning. But lateron started liking the rhythm! Now, will look forward to your list, Deeu.

kanagu said...

I will surely do this one... :) after all I enjoy music... :)

and thanks for tagging me :)

I don't know what are the songs posted here except thillana and nagada(got from comments) as I couldn't see from my mobile... :(

I love the way Maniratnam picturizes a song... he is a master..

shankar is also good... he is different... :)

and I love most of the songs you have mentioned...

lajjavathiye is cool number and Thillana thillana was a rage when the film Muthu released... the steps are simple and nice...

and I love althoota boobathi too... awesome dance steps...

Nagada Nagada is also really good.. even though I don't know hindi... I enjoyed it... The situation it comes is really nice.. I enjoy that part...

kanagu: I am familiar with both Hindi and Tamil film songs, though, watching them in TV has reduced. Just hear them in radio!

My first selection was Prabhdeva's songs! Then thought most of you will do that and though I am a Kamal fan, I like this dance and song of Rajini, a lot. Most of the commentors agree!

I thought 'Althotta' will be loved. Not much! Rest are common numbers. Everyone will like them.

Now, I will wait to know about your song selection!

And as most of my relatives expected, my first list was full of old songs...Shammi kapoor, Helen, Shivaji too (yaaradi nee mohini...!)

kanagu said...

yes.. thillana thillana is one good number..

but I never seen songs for which we can dance in Shivaji movies..

I have done with the tag:

and you have been awarded

I guess I am quite late here :-) Thanks for doing the tag, and quite some surprises here... The first song was initially hyped up, but listening to it now, I like it! Didn't expect Al thotta bhoopathy too... of course, it is a nice song that I had forgotten! I wanted to list down Chandralekha in my list of songs too... I rate it very highly (It was atleast two decades ahead of its time). I don't like that lajjavathi song (I don't know why!). Nagada Nagada is an excellent selection, I instantly liked this song when I listened it for the first time. Rukkumani Rukkumani is such a different song, kudos to Mani Ratnam for allowing such songs in commercial cinemas!

Hey, thanks for doing the tag, your selections were very different and interesting!

I am writing this comment very fast because every time I have logged in here in the past few days, I get immediately logged out! Anyway that's why I have not commented here lately! :)

Destination Infinity: I have expressed some of my views about the songs I have selected,in the comments section.

'Lajjaavathiy' - I hated it for sometime...no melody at all! Then I got used to the droning voice of the singer! I was compelled to hear it from my next door auto-shop!

'Rukkumaniye' rhythm and picturization... I loved, in this song. Prabhudeva and his brother are very young looking in this song, did you notice?

'Chandralekha'...when I watched it in the big screen, I felt like watching the photography from a foreign movie. Music..unbelievable!

Manju: It is OK, Manju. It had happened to me, sometimes, too. I was busy for the past one week with guests at home. My husband has already read your latest post. I will be there now!

SANDHYA....Had a very heavy breakfast and i am lucky today as my son decided to sleep for awhile..i completely, thoroughly enjoyed all the songs,matkas,jhatkas,dhumkas...South actresses are very beautiful and they are not skinny like bollywood ones...Rajnikant is my fav hero,i watch tamil movies in cable sometimes even if i don't understand them...i make up my own assumptions..fun to watch...i think South film industry is very disciplined and the effort they put on the choreography, sets, music is admirable.

Finally my browser is able to see the media files....

nice songs!

talaivar is talaivar, but he can't dance for nuts!!

Sandhya said...

Kavita, it was nice to read your comments! Yes, South Indian actresses are plump and round-round! I like Meena (Rajni song). She acts well too. I seemed to write a lot about Hindi Film songs, so this time, I gave preference to Tamil songs!

Dharma: Welcome back, Dharma! Yes, you are right!

Sandhya, On WP blog you are leaving your blog address as 'maradhimanni@blogspot.com'.

I think you typed once by mistake and then everytime it comes up that way.

Lovely songs, Sandhya - I read it - could not comment then - and then somehow missed commenting! So sorry for the delay!

Tillana Tillana - reminds me of my college days :)

Loved all the songs that you have put up :) And I don't like Kareena Kapoor either - but she look amazing in Jab we met - I haven't seen the movie - just the songs :(

Will definitely do the tag.. Just not getting the time to put it all down and put the links and everything.

evanescentthoughts: Your selection is interesting, Ashwini. Enjoyed watching them.

wordsndreamz: I have got pending posts to read too. Did not have time to read them for the past one week. So don't worry.

If I think that my post is very interesting - like the 'birds' post and you did not read it, then I will take the liberty to ask you to read it, Smitha!

Anonymous said...

Oh absolutely! That was so sweet of you to tell me :) I felt so bad today when I realised that I had read it but forgotten to comment - I was worried if you thought I was being rude :) Thank you :)

Sandhya said...

Now, I am feeling bad! I too forget many things often...my name says it! This is not such an important post too,Smitha, to worry so much.
