The Only True Leader We Ever Had...Shastriji!

.
We have to remember this great personality on his birthday, today, 2nd October, '13, along with the birthday of our Mahatma!

Can we ever have a 'Patriotic Leader' like him? We need one very badly NOW!

Shastriji...Our Prime Minister Who Was The True Patriot!
A Simple Man!
He Had A Wife Who Supported Him!
He Was Never A Politician!
Simple Family! Never Utilized His Position As A Prime Minister!

JAI JAWAN JAI KISAAN!

P.S.: Please read my earlier post on him, HERE

Thank you for your remembering the great son of India and a truly Bharat Ratna and for paying homage through this post of yours.Though short in physical stature,he was a giant in his indomitable courage,
lofty values and high probity. He adorned the position of Prime ministership instead of the other way around.Had he continued to lead the country, the history of India would have been different. But fate willed it otherwise.A role model for other politicians,he has left an indelible imprint in the history of India

K.PARTHASARATHY: You have paid a better tribute to Shastriji than me with your beautiful words, Partha Sir! We will never have a person like him in the prestigious post of our country. We should have had him for some more years, and Sardar Patel too. It would have made a lot of difference to our country.

Thank you, Partha Sir!

I think, India was very lucky during those days. Maybe they cherished the newly obtained independence so much that they elected great people to lead the country.

Nowadays, it's sheer complacency. If and when a disaster strikes, people will be up to a rude awakening. I hope people think a little/do some research before voting for any candidate.

High time we stop party-based voting and start voting for the right person with good administrative skills and ethics.

PS: I am glad that Shastriji has graced many blogs today...

Your article on Shashtri ji was very enlightening.
People of the lies of him had ideals to live up to and they served the nation with integrity and honesty unlike today.

After years of anguish due to utter deep-seated corruption and misrule we see light at the end of he tunnel.
A 'yugapurusha' NaMo is amidst us.He has his head and heart in the right place and will do what he says.
Let us unanimously vote him to power and oust this corrupt UPA.
VANDE MATARAM!

Shastri was a very honest man. Here is an anecdote. During freedom movement, he was working in the Congress Party office in Varanasi. His monthly salary was Rs.15. He would give it to his wife and she managed the finance. Once he noticed his wife loaning some money to a family friend. He asked her how did she get the money to loan the family friend. His wife told him out of the Rs.15 he gave every month, she saved Rs.5 per month.

Next day, Shastri went to his office and told the manager to reduce his salary from Rs.15 to Rs.10.

It is heartening to see a blogger remember the other great son of India. Even in schools, I think they don't have any lessons about Shastriji. What a selfish nation we have become! If anyone gave his life for the country, it was him. I remember singing Raghupati Raghava Rajaram when we heard the news of his demise, during the prabhat pheri in Nagpur when we kids used to go with our brothers singing bhajans in the mornings during margazhi month. We were crying as we sang. Thanks dear, for posting this.

SM: Yes, sm!

ASHOK: Yes, Ashok!

DESTINATION INFINITY: Honest people do not come into politics and it is not easy nowadays to contest for election. You need to spend lot of money. During the last election, I didn't like to vote DMK and the AIADMK candidate was a liquor baron, I had to vote for an independent. It went waste.

I think this time, we will have the option of 49 (we can tick for the option saying that we didn't like the candidates). But will it help? I don't see any good leader now, to vote wholeheartedly.

SG: Thanks for the anecdote, SG! We can never find a man like him anymore!

RENU: Yes, Renu!

ZEPHYR: I had tears, reading your comment, Zephyr! We, ordinary people, will never be emotional about our leaders anymore, Zephyr! We will never have a true leader to lead us in the future.

Did you read the earlier post about Shastriji, Zephyr?

Thank you!

AVADA KEDAVARA; I remember him always on this day, A.K. No more leaders will be there to touch our heart anymore.

Good to know that you too admire him!

SAI CHARAN: Not much is said about him nowadays, Sai and about Narasimha Rao also. They are the people who did something for our country. Is there a person in politics now, who comes a little bit nearer to him?
