  1. ASHOK: Hahahaaa....yes....the water was just red because of the soil, but looked clean! The whole area was clean...Table land, this area is called, near Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. Lot of grass was there for them to graze.

  3. Personifies the erumai madu nature. Enjoying a dip even in the muddy water without a care. And that is the kind of attitude one needs to develop - letting the good and bad to slide off the thick skin and be unperturbed, serene even!

  4. Ah! The bliss of a slushy mud bath :) If only one could be replete with such simple pleasures in life :)
Happy new year, in advance, Sandhya :)

  5. sm: Thank you, sm! Happy New Year to you too! Be happy always!

ZEPHYR: You are right, Zephyr! I am trying to learn it slowly! They looked very lazy and happy! We were just standing there and watching them! No trees were there, just a meadow! Many sheeps were also there. And horses to take tourists for a round. They were pestering everybody! But we enjoyed!

Happy New year to you and your family! Be happy always!

USHA PISHARODY: Hahahaaaa....really...the red mud water was clean. No smells. They were enjoying bathing and we enjoyed watching them in the hot sun! I have photos standing beside them too, but with cows!

Happy New Year to you and your family, Usha...special wishes to Nainu!

  7. DESTINATION INFINITY: Yes, Rajesh! It was very hot on that day and these were enjoying here!

ASHOK: Yes, Table land. This hilly place is flat on top. Wikimapia says: Table Land: This flat large expanse of laterite rock is the second longest mountain plateau in Asia. Some spacious caves including the “Devil's Kitchen” are visible from here. Panchgani's famous 'table land' has been the location for many Indian Movies, recently the location for the acclaimed movie "Taare Zameen Par".(Agent Vinod which will come very soon) ....

Just open space without any trees or ups and downs on the land on tops of 5 mountains, I think. You can see the other flat mountains from this place! First we think 'what is here...waste of time'. But the open space overwhelms us after some time. Worth travelling to this place (Panchgani) from Mahabaleshwar.

  10. Lovely photos.

These photos remind me of Henry David Thoreau who said ===

Our life is frittered away by detail. An honest man has hardly need to count more than his ten fingers, or in extreme cases he may add his ten toes, and lump the rest. Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity! I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumb nail. In the midst of this chopping sea of civilized life, such are the clouds and storms and quicksands and thousand-and-one items to be allowed for, that a man has to live, if he would not founder and go to the bottom and not make his port at all, by dead reckoning, and he must be a great calculator indeed who succeeds. Simplify, simplify. Instead of three meals a day, if it be necessary eat but one; instead of a hundred dishes, five; and reduce other things in proportion.-----

Who needs words to live in peace, happiness, harmony and in companionship with others without rancor, distrust and misunderstanding. A simple life is a glorious life.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR

  18. JEEVAN: Thank you Jeevan! I used to come across many cows on the OMR until a few years back. No buffaloes and now don't see the cows even. But it was difficult to drive through the road at night when the cows slept on the highways.

    RACHNA: Yes, they looked happy!

AVADA KEDAVRA: Too much traffic and then, they will be a disturbance for us! We humans are superior creatures. They don't have a place amongst us!

MRS. TJ: No, they have been pushed out of the cities. Thank you, Mrs.TJ and our wishes to you and your family too!

RENU: Thank you and our best wishes to you and your family too, Renu!
