I am a great fan of Vividhabharathi, esp. Sangeeth Saritha programme, in which great musicians of our country participate. Now, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, who is a Sarod Maestro, is discussing about his likes and dislikes, about his family, about his journey as a musician etc. He has created new raagaas, like Shiv Preethi, Subbulakshmi, etc. He visits the Shabari mala and Iyappan is his favourite deity, though he follows Islamic religion.
This programme is aired at 7.30 am everyday for 10 mts. I have heard Violinist Smt.N.Rajam, Flute maestro Shri. Chaurasia, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Tabla Maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain and many others about their sangeeth yathra. All of them interact with the listeners, as if we are in front of them, which makes the programme very very interesting. I hope music lovers will enjoy this programme.
I LOVE Amjad Ali Khan!:) He is so good-looking even at this age!Good music must be the key to his youthful looks :)worth a try;)
ReplyDeleteYes, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan is a true genius.
ReplyDeleteSandhyaji, this post conveys your appreciation of the programme Sangeeth Saritha and admiration of the radio channel Vividh Bharati.
Continue enjoying music and keep writing many such posts.
My dearest niece Ashwini, I didn't know that I should reciprocate/appreciate the comments I get in the earlier stages of blog writing! Here, it is. Thank You, Ashwini!
ReplyDeleteSai, I have noticed that the artists, almost everyone, who participate are greats and super greats. But the way they converse in the programme, God, they are so simple, sincere and polite. Actually, we should be thankful to them. They take time off and participate in radio programmes. We do not see this type of programmes that much in TV. National TV has got one programme on Sunday after noon, in which I have seen Pt.Jasraj, Shubha Mudhgal etc.
Thanks Sai.
